Maybe you should put a link to this in the Reyvablog author's notes. It might be useful to someone who ends up there first... Or just be an easy way to track it down.

"Antiseptic" is the title of one of those entries during the big dramatic final hour? =D I guess I see why, but it's a kind of hilariously anticlimactic title.

It... was meant to be cutely out of touch with the rest of what was going on, yes. :) Just a little fluffy note. I thought it fitted with the whole thing where people are disbeliving that things really are changing.

And yes, it'd be a good idea to link it. :) Thanks for that though.

I can (mis)read the sequence of titles leading up to the end as a story of the distance between the present and the ideal, the anticipation leading up to the promise being able to achieve that ideal, and the "live" posts would all be personal accounts of what happens as things don't change, but life is different even if one's mindset is the only difference.

Antiseptic can be a sudden reminder of an event that can't be affected by mindset. It's both a pain that exacerbates the unchanging state of society, and a disinfectant for the fear of associating the present with the past, thinking that the feeling of now will be lost if one is reminded of how one used to be like.

Very short titles can retell parts of a story in fun ways. ^_^

Heehee! I didn't have any particular direction for the titles when I first started naming them, but as I named the first few and they all turned out to be one-word titles, I thought I'd keep going with that. It does, as you say, leave room for various narrative interpretations and explorations. Maybe it's a bit like having random word prompts, even; instead of confining people to one way of looking at the story, the single words might help people to think about the situations present in ways they hadn't before....

Hmmm. It reminds me of the fanfic "newRanma", which all had one word titles of the "verb + -ing" form. (I know there's a word for that, but I can't remember it.) All of them had something to do with the contents of the chapter, but not always what you'd first expect...

You've got a mixture here of course, but a quick once-over makes it look pretty heavy on nouns. Don't ask me whether or not that means anything. `.`

I think if it means anything, it's that the story is a lot about states of being and abstract concepts. Purpose, activism, togetherness, choice, security. It's about what people are feeling, what people are seeking, about the state of the world right now and how we can change it. And since there's more focus on philosophical discussion of that change than there is on direct action by the characters (it being a blog), it skews in that direction, I think.

And the word is "gerund", I believe. :)
